The paper demonstrates the influence of plasma and UV radiation of nanosecond electrical discharges in air at atmospheric pressure on a natural material mother-of-pearl (nacre). After the radiation treatment of nacre for 5 and 10 min with the device "GAME", the surface modification was noticed, which resulted in a higher wettability with water, but its decorative properties disappeared.
Keywords: nacre, UV radiation, plasma, surface, wettability.
