Application of Barrier Layers in the Process of Obtaining Nanostructured Electrospark Coatings of Increased Thickness on Aluminum Alloys

A capability of obtaining electrospark nanostructured coatings of increased thickness on aluminum surfaces using a tool electrode manufactured from Al-Sn alloy via forming intermediate barrier layers of different chemical compositions is considered. It is shown that Al-Ni, Al-Fe, and Al-Si alloys with the content of alloying elements ~ 20% may be used as barrier layers in the process of applying thickened nanostructured electrospark coatings of Al-Sn alloy by a multilayer deposition.
