The principles behind the electrohydrodynamic pump (EHDP) action are stated. The research tasks, which are focused on the study of the regularities and peculiarities of the EHDP operation with the aim of its optimization, are formulated. A description of the experimental setup is presented and the peculiarities of the output characteristics relaxation of a single-stage EHD pump are investi-gated. The dependencies of pressure and current on time and voltage (DC) on the electrodes are given. It was found that after a very long operation of EHDP the pressure characteristics are oscillating functions of time. A theoretical model of the electric current transfer in EHDP, based on the analog electric circuitry, is presented.
