Electrospark coatings were deposited with nano-grained TiB2-TiC-Al2O3-ZrO2 electrode materials produced by SHS extrusion and tested. Three different modes of anode erosion and cathode gain were observed for single pulse energies ranging between 0.05 and 2.5 J. The microstructure of the coatings was studied. The surface of the coatings was found to contain nanocrystallites. Microhardness of the alloyed layer attained a value of up to 1250 HV, at a wear resistance of 10-5 mm3/N/m and a friction coefficient of 0.2.
