Productivity and Quality of Cladding with Coaxial Laser Beam and Gas-powder Jet

Technological process of laser cladding with laser beam and powder jet delivered coaxially into processing zone is investigated in this paper. Mutual influence of focused laser beam and gas-powder stream on parameters of clad layer (dimensions, porosity etc.). Two research methods were used for investigation of gas-powder jet focusing with nozzles of different configurations: numerical simulation with further experimental verification and experiment planning technique. Statistically significant influence technological parameters (mutual position of laser beam waist, gas-powder jet profile, workpiece etc.) on the productivity (dimensions) and quality (number of pores) of the clad layer.
