In the frame of the formal chemical kinetics for the description of the available experimental data on photo-induced epimerization reaction of the glucose a minimal model is formulated. The epimerization reaction has a yield of the reaction products in the form of glucose epimers: allose, galactose and mannose. Modeling of the kinetics of epimerization reaction is based on the classical scheme of the enzymatic reaction. The effect of laser radiation is considered as an additional contribution to the activation of the intermediate complex. On the basis of the kinetic model the numerical calculation and data analysis are carried out. The results of the simulated epimerization reaction for the relative concentrations of glucose epimers in the percentage terms are in line with those observed in the experiment.
