A one-dimensional problem of mass transfer at electroseparation in the electrofilter was formulated taking into account its constructive peculiarities. The final goal of the research was to find the temporal dependence of the concen- tration at the electrofilter outflow, since the concentration is the parameter used in the practical exploitation of electro- filters and in experimental research. With this aim we have divided the electrofilter space into two zones: the emitter (purification) zone and the collector zone. To solve the problem means to find the average concentration in the purifica- tion zone as a function of time. The problem can be solved by averaging over the entire electrofilter volume and the specified zones. As a result the problem was reduced to the approximation of the concentration and its coordinate de- rivative in the boundary plane, which separates the emitter and collector zones. The concentration was approximated by introducing an averaging parameter; its derivative was approximated on the basis of the boundary layer concept. For the obtained differential equation the partial solutions were found, which agree with the experimental data.
