The engineering of a methyl methacrylate microwave-assisted polymerization process in bulk, processing in batch reactors, is considered. Various reactor temperature modes were investigated. It is shown that the main advantage of microwave heating is an inertia-free temperature control technique. On the example of the methyl methacrylate polymerization process in bulk with the layer thickness of 6mm, the allowable in the height temperature drop was established, which approaches a remote the reactor mode close to the isothermal one. To realize the polymerization process due to an assigned found program that guarantees the significant shortening of the polymerization time in close to isothermal reactor temperature mode, a сontrol system has been proposed. The system provides a smooth in time microwave power alteration, and also the stepped alteration of the coolant temperature.
