The results of the electric discharge crushing of printed circuit boards (PCB) to millimeter-sized fractions suitable for separation of a metal from a dielectric are presented. The crushing was performed on a high-voltage repetitively pulsed generator, varying the number of pulses, the capacity of the high-voltage storage from 4 to 15 nF, the output voltage from 140 to 300 kV, and the length of the discharge gap in the reaction chamber from 6 to 10 mm. The results of the work confirm the possibility of electrical discharge destruction of various types of PCB, including PCB with four layers and a fiberglass cloth, and allow optimizing the discharge circuit parameters based on performance criteria and energy efficiency of the crushing process.
