The semi-theoretical classification of experimentally observed modes of electrodispersion of liquids is offered, which starts from the theory of dispersion of jets and dispergating of drops (meniscuses) of a liquid and considers the phenomenon phenomenology. The classification is based on consecutive consideration of instability of various azimuthal modes of jets, then it deals with physical and chemical properties of liquids, and, next, it turns to technological features of installations and processes. Axisymmetric and nonsymmetric disintegrations of jets are considered, namely, their capillary, electrostatic and bending disintegrations related to the excitation of zero, first and second azimuthal modes.
