The paper offers the results of experimental studies of the effect of electrolysis borating and of the steel grade of hardenable details on the distribution of boron and carbon at the thickness of the diffusion layer. The structure, the phase composition, the concentration of boron and carbon at the thickness of the hardened layer, and boride coating properties are investigated. The optimal values of the initial carbon concentration are found. The optimal technological modes of the hardening process are determined that allow getting the surface with a minimum speed of wear in abrasive environments.
