Effect of Barrier Discharge on Stability of the Electret State in High Density Polyethylene

Abstract

UDC 678

The electret state of a high-density polyethylene subjected to an electric gas barrier of an AC discharge is investigated. It is established that under the effect of the discharge on the film surface a negative charge is formed. Using the thermally stimulated polarization, under investigation are the space-charge processes in both the thermo- and corono-electrets processed in the barrier discharge in the air gap between the dielectrics (glass–polyethylene). A comparison of the stability of the electret state in polyethylene films has been carried out.
