Influence of Pulse-Recurrence Rate on Accuracy of Electrochemical Machining of Nickel, Copper and Steel

Abstract

The pulse-recurrence rate influence on the accuracy of electrochemical machining of nickel H1, copper M1, and steel 08KP is shown. The pulse-recurrence rate variation leads to a similar change in the coping of the tool electrode accuracy. It allows us to extend the area of applications of pulsed mode of electrochemical machi-ning. A correlation between the surface passivity and effects of the pulse mode is demonstrated. A possible explanation of the observed effects using existing theore-tical background on the charged particles motion in the non-stationary inhomogeneous electric fields is discussed.
