Computer-Simulated Model of Ionic Wind in Unipolar Approximation with Boundary Condition on Rate of Variations of Ions Flow

A new simplified model of the ionic wind in air is proposed. An expression for the rate of variations of electrons flow on the corona sheath external boundary is derived. It is revealed that to simulate the ionic wind at the negative polarity of a high voltage electrode, in the corona discharge external zone not only negative ions but also electrons should be taken into consideration. A traditional and the proposed computer-simulated models of the ionic wind in the point-thorus electrodes system are compared.
