The specific capacitance of the natural pyrite FeS2 was investigated by the galvanostatic cycling method. The investigation was carried out in electrolytes consisting of dimethylcarbonate (DMC) and a lithium salt (LiBF4, LiClO4, or LiN(CF3SO2)2). It was shown that the specific capacitance of FeS2 and its stability during cycling depend on the concentration and the nature of the lithium salt anion. The best efficiency of FeS2 during cycling is achieved in the electrolytes of DMC – LiClO4 and DMC – LiN(CF3SO2)2, at the salt concentration in the range of 0.1–0.2 molar proportion.
