The review article deals with modern methods of pulse influence on the near-bottom zone of an oil-bearing bed, including the method of an electric blast. Their advantages and disadvantages in practical use are discussed. A possible physical mechanism of the effective action of a pulse cavitation and subsequent outgassing at near-bottom zones of an oil-bearing bed is considered.  The result of such an action is the destruction of the blocking layer and the resumption of inflow. A rational layout is proposed of an electric discharge chamber at the heel, which becomes the waveguide of electro-explosive pressure-stretch waves to the near-bottom zone of the oil-bearing bed.

Keywords: electrical discharge, oil-bearing bed, pulse cavitation, resumption of oil flow.
