The head-flow rate characteristics are obtained, namely dependencies of the head and flow rate through the electrohydrodynamic pump (EHDP) on voltage and the properties of the working liquid. Head characteristics are determined for hydrostatic and hydrodynamic modes. It is found that the efficiency of the EHDP depends linearly on voltage. Theoretical results agree with experimental ones. Formulas for the calculation of the EHDP are derived. Silicone fluid turned out to have better performance so it is recommended for applications in electrohydrodynamic heat exchangers.
