Abstract

The peculiarities are determined and the characteristics of electrical explosion (EE) of graphitic con- ductors from 0.3 mm to 2 mm in diameter, ranging in length from 10 mm to 40 mm are obtained at the varia- tion of their initial electrical conductivity in the range from 5103 Sm/m to 2.4105 Sm/m and stored energies of capacitors from 12 to 940 J. On the basis of the photographs analysis of the process a mechanism of EE of such conductors, dependent on parameters of a conductor and the generator, is proposed. The possibility of calculation of the amplitude of the first current pulse as well as magnetic pressure in the conductor is shown.
