Abstract
The results of experimental investigation of EHD flows arising in a system with a highly non-uniform electric field are presented. A high degree of the electric field distribution non-uniformity is obtained due to using a needle elec- trode with the 3 μm curvature radius. Stationary and dynamic current-voltage characteristics and the dependence of the EHD flow velocity on voltage is obtained. It is shown that at high velocity of voltage modulation the dynamic current- voltage characteristic have a hysteresis. Investigation of the electron-acceptor admixture influence on the form of cur- rent-voltage characteristic and intensity of EHD flows is conducted. A return EHD flow arising after the voltage turning off is recorded. The obtained results are compared with analogous data from literature for the case of a less non-uniform electric field.
