Abstract

An investigation has been made of permanent effects of γ- radiation on additive – free and doped with Cu2O and ВаО high-density polyethylene (HDPE) using thermally stimulated current (TSC) techniques over the temperature range 293-413K. TSC spectra for corona – and radioelectret samples show a negative peak, centering around 378K is associated with the melting point of the material. The peak in the TSC spec- trum in the low temperature region around 338K for samples dosed to 5⋅104Gy and then corona poled is as- signed to the release of homo-charge injected from the electrodes during polarization.
