Characteristics of a discharge pulse current flowing through a conductor from Al–7%Si alloy, within the tem- perature range of 700–500оС, are experimentally investigated. It is found out that cooling and phase transition of a con- ductor from a liquid to solid state is accompanied by contraction of amplitude of the pulse sine wave current, by the increase of damping decrement and of oscillation period, as well as by the displacement of an oscillatory spectrum to the area of lower frequencies. A peculiarity of temperature dependences of pulse characteristics is occurrence of discon- tinuities and excesses at characteristic liquidus and solidus points. It is assumed that the observed changes are due to the increase of active resistance and reactance (inductive) components of the full resistance during cooling and solidifica- tion.
